About Fomtrac
The Federation of Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FOMTRAC) was established in 2003 and was later incorporated, under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, in 2015. FOMTRAC includes representatives from:
- College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia
- College of Massage Therapists of New Brunswick
- College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland/Labrador
- College of Massage Therapists of Ontario
- College of Massage Therapists of Prince Edward Island
FOMTRAC promotes the harmonization of massage therapy regulation in Canada and the provincial regulators provide leadership and collaborate to:
- Enable best regulatory practices for the profession of massage therapy;
- Support the research and development of national massage therapy standards;
- Support the inter-jurisdictional mobility of massage therapists;
- Network, share information, and build consensus regarding the regulation of massage therapists in Canada.
