Competency Profile
First published by FOMTRAC in 2012 and reviewed in 2016, the Practice Competencies (PCs) and Performance Indicators (PIs) document defines the minimum competencies (Behavior, Attitude, Knowledge and Skills) expected of all RMTs.
In addition to guiding professional RMT practice, the PCs/PIs also serve as an important benchmark for RMT education, continuing education, and competency assessment in provinces where massage therapy is regulated.
Through the PCs/PIs, members of the public can expect that RMTs are appropriately educated and prepared to deliver competent, safe, and ethical patient-centred massage therapy care and services.
